I turn complex technology programs into predictable delivery.
Twenty-plus years leading enterprise delivery across financial services, energy and software — building Agile teams from scratch, modernising infrastructure and networks, and shipping the applications the business actually runs on.
Delivery leadership across the whole technology stack
I am an IT project and program manager with a track record of driving change in genuinely difficult environments — matrixed organisations, regulated industries, and platforms that cannot afford downtime. My work spans Agile transformation, enterprise infrastructure, networking and security, and application development and integration.
What makes that combination useful is that I have sat on both sides of it. I started as a software designer and analyst, moved into project delivery, and have spent the last decade leading programs where the infrastructure, the network and the application all have to land together. I can hold a credible conversation with an architect, a network engineer and a CFO on the same day.
Most recently at Sun Life Financial, I have led operational resilience and SAP Centre of Excellence programs, established scaled Agile delivery models with real metrics behind them, and mentored the next group of Scrum Masters. Earlier roles at Direct Energy, Deighton Associates, Enbridge and Johnson Controls built the delivery fundamentals underneath all of it.
I care about two things above everything else: teams that improve on their own, and outcomes you can measure without squinting.
What I am usually brought in to do
- Stand up delivery where there is no framework, no metrics and no baseline yet
- Take a waterfall PMO to working Scrum, Kanban and SAFe — and make it stick
- Run high-risk infrastructure, network and security programs without breaking BAU
- Rescue and re-sequence programs that have lost their delivery rhythm
- Secure multi-year funding by connecting technical work to business outcomes
Four domains, one delivery discipline
Most program managers are strong in one of these. The value I bring is running all four inside a single program, so the hand-offs between them stop being where delivery goes wrong.
Agile & Scaled Delivery
Certified across the practical spectrum — Scrum, Kanban, product ownership and SAFe — and used to introducing them where nobody has worked that way before.
- Established and coached 3 Agile squads in a Cloud Centre of Excellence, leading them through 10+ sprints
- Scrum Master for IT Asset Management; Kanban coach for Finance workstreams
- Delivered Agile training to 20+ stakeholders and pivoted steering meetings to SAFe system demos
- Key contributor to the enterprise SAFe Program Increment planning rollout
- Built platform-wide metrics — cycle time, throughput, velocity, lead time — presented at 3 Community of Practice events
- Mentors junior Scrum Masters across Corporate and Global communities
Infrastructure & Cloud
Platform currency, resilience and capacity work — the programs that keep the lights on and are unforgiving when they slip.
- Led the SAP CoE Technical Currency Roadmap across S/4HANA and EFDW platforms
- Disaster recovery testing achieving a 4-hour recovery time
- Deployed Stage and Production SAP environments and transitioned them to BAU
- Capacity analysis that took critical processes from once daily to 6× daily
- EFDW high-availability upgrade; S/4HANA and B4/HANA lifecycle refreshes
- Led a full data centre relocation program and CTRL-M to Autosys migration
Networking & Security
Global network and cyber programs delivered in a regulated financial services environment, where a bad change is a reportable event.
- Cisco Network Access Control deployment managing a $3M+ budget
- Three enterprise security programs scoring 4.6–5.0 / 5.0 on stakeholder satisfaction
- Endpoint Protection / EDR global rollout and a 3-year Breach Readiness program
- Orchestrated the first annual rapid containment recovery test — recognised for flawless execution
- Global Network Monitoring solution and perimeter zone load balancer deployment
- Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance delivery
Application Development & Integration
I began as a software designer and analyst, so delivery estimates, technical debt and release mechanics are not abstractions to me.
- DevOps automation including CHaRM implementation and test automation across SAP platforms
- Owned SAP Business Objects and Business Planning & Consolidation application development
- Implementation Manager for the Texas Utility Billing Platform Consolidation — the largest, most complex initiative Direct Energy had delivered
- Delivered Electronic Bill Payment and Customer Care offshoring programs
- Standardised development, testing, defect and promotion processes across two statements of work
- Software Designer and Software Analyst / Team Lead earlier in career
Six programs, and what actually came out of them
A representative sample across resilience, infrastructure, security, Agile transformation and large-scale application delivery.
E-21 Operational Resilience
- Challenge
- The first Corporate initiative to run fully inside Agile Place, with no OKRs, delivery framework or reporting baseline in place — and a regulatory deadline attached to it.
- Approach
- Co-led the program from ground zero: defined OKRs and metrics, built the delivery framework, and used GenAI tooling to analyse statements of work, policies and business cases so objectives were grounded in the source documents rather than guesswork.
- Outcome
- Value Realization Review reporting live within two weeks, and development, testing, defect and promotion processes standardised across two SOWs — recognised by Corporate IT leadership. Also managed OFSI compliance action plans as a stretch into Program Manager responsibilities.
SAP Technical Currency & Resilience Roadmap
- Challenge
- An ageing SAP estate carrying currency and vulnerability risk, with no automated release path and no proven recovery position across S/4HANA and EFDW.
- Approach
- Built and executed a multi-year Technical Currency Roadmap: DevOps automation through CHaRM, test automation, vulnerability remediation, and a real disaster recovery test rather than a paper exercise. Secured stakeholder buy-in and funding across IT and business leadership.
- Outcome
- A 4-hour recovery time demonstrated under test, Stage and Production environments deployed and handed to BAU operations, and multi-year roadmap funding approved.
Enterprise Network Access Control
- Challenge
- The enterprise needed to control which devices could reach the corporate network globally, alongside a wider push to raise breach readiness across the organisation.
- Approach
- Led the Cisco Network Access Control deployment against a $3M+ budget, coordinating vendor partnerships and phasing the rollout so that access enforcement never interrupted business operations. Ran it alongside Asset Management Phase 2, a 3-year Breach Readiness program and a global Endpoint Protection / EDR rollout.
- Outcome
- All three enterprise security programs landed with stakeholder satisfaction scores of 4.6–5.0 out of 5.0, and the first annual rapid containment recovery test was recognised for flawless execution.
Cloud CoE Agile Transformation
- Challenge
- A Cloud Centre of Excellence operating on traditional PMO governance, with low delivery predictability and steering meetings that reported on status rather than working software.
- Approach
- Established and coached three Agile squads, personally serving as Scrum Master for IT Asset Management and Kanban coach for the Finance workstream. Trained 20+ stakeholders and replaced steering updates with SAFe system demos so leadership saw the product, not a slide.
- Outcome
- 10+ sprints delivered across the squads, reduced lead times in the Finance workstream, executive recognition for the system demo format, and reusable Agile frameworks adopted across the PMO community of practice.
EFDW Capacity & Performance Turnaround
- Challenge
- Critical reporting processes could only be run once a day, leaving Asia-based users working from stale data and waiting on slow reports.
- Approach
- Ran a capacity analysis across the EFDW platform to find the real constraint rather than adding hardware, then paired the fix with a high-availability upgrade to the same platform.
- Outcome
- Critical processes moved from once daily to six times daily, with significantly faster report performance for Asia-based users and improved platform reliability.
Texas Utility Billing Platform Consolidation
- Challenge
- Consolidating the Texas utility billing platform — the largest and most complex initiative Direct Energy had ever attempted, touching billing, customer care and the core revenue path.
- Approach
- As Implementation Manager, developed and coordinated the cross-functional deployment plan, streamlining the sequencing across every business and technology group involved in the cutover.
- Outcome
- A single coordinated deployment plan that carried the organisation’s largest-ever initiative through to implementation, followed by promotion to Senior Project Manager for corporate IT.
The operating rhythm I bring to a program
Consistent whether the program is running Scrum, Kanban, SAFe or a stage-gated plan.
Establish the baseline
Find out what is actually true before committing to a plan — current state, real constraints, and the metrics that will tell us whether anything is improving.
Make value visible
Objectives and key results tied to business outcomes, and reporting leadership will genuinely read. System demos over status decks wherever the work allows it.
Build the team’s capability
Coaching on conflict resolution, decision-making and prioritisation, so the team keeps improving after the program manager moves on.
Prove it under test
Recovery tested rather than documented, processes standardised, and delivery frameworks handed over as reusable assets rather than one-off artefacts.
